Flavour – These little beauties hold a special place in my heart. A smoky, rich, fruity pepper that hits the nail on the head for colour and kick, whilst retaining an element of uniqueness. The dark brown / purple fruit has a velvety lustre, akin to viscous, melted dark chocolate… but don’t be fooled, this guy packs a serious punch!
Uses – Kickin’ Chilli’s “Chocolate Habanero + Cocoa” sauce sits near the top of the heat range, packing layers of flavour which are abundant beyond the warmth. This luxurious and intense sauce draws on flavour and richness from smoked black garlic, orange peel and charcoal-roasted chillies, overlapped by earthy and smooth cocoa.
Based on a Mexican mole sauce, the core flavours of roasted chillies, peppers and tomatoes, provide sweetness and heat. This sauce is ideal for the more adventurous and would be perfect with Mexican food, winter stews, rice dishes, chicken dishes, or poured over vanilla and chocolate ice cream.
